With a length of no less than 8.6 centimeters, the Ibis earrings are certainly not short. Zoltan Popovits designed them for Lapponia as long, sculptural earrings that frame the face in a particularly elegant way.
The name Ibis refers to the sacred ibis of ancient Egypt, a bird that symbolized wisdom. The long, slightly curved pendant is reminiscent of its characteristic beak. At the top, each earring begins with an organically shaped silver stud, from which the slender pendant moves freely downwards.
The two earrings are mirror images of each other. The alternation between matte silver and subtly polished details brings the form to life without making the design heavy. They are absolutely striking, but their long and narrow line keeps them surprisingly light.
This vintage pair bears the date mark O8 and dates from 1991.

Condition: Good vintage condition. On one earring, the stud has been reattached in the past. This repair was solidly done and the earring can be worn normally. Traces of the repair are visible on the back.
