This 1975 Finnish bracelet watch is primarily an impressive silver piece of jewelry that also happens to tell time. It was designed by Matti J. Hyvärinen for Sirokoru and combines a sleek, square watch with a distinctly brutalist bracelet.
The surface of the silver band has an irregular, almost rock-like texture.
The watch case is fully integrated into the design and is surrounded on both sides by the same organic relief.
The bracelet consists of several hinged silver parts and closes with a hidden hook clasp. With a width of 2 cm and a weight of 57.5 grams, the watch feels sturdy and luxurious. Due to its relatively compact internal size, it is particularly suitable for small to slender wrists.
The watch has a battery-powered quartz movement. The battery was recently replaced, and the movement is functioning at the time of offering.
The silver bracelet is in very good vintage condition. Superficial scratches and normal signs of wear are visible on the end pieces and around the watch case. The plastic watch crystal also shows some marks, and there is some localized loss of lacquer on the black hands. These points are visible but do little to detract from the remarkably strong appearance of the whole.
