This antique ring from 1912 has a warm, instantly striking appearance. The gold has a rich, almost slightly reddish hue, creating a beautiful contrast with the fresh blue of the turquoise.
At the center are five cabochon-cut turquoise stones , each set in a small star-shaped setting. Together, they create a vibrant row of stones that gives the ring a very cheerful and summery look.
On the sides of the ring, you'll see finely engraved details , a typical element of early twentieth-century jewelry. These small ornaments give the ring that extra touch of character.
Turquoise was a favoured stone in jewellery from the late Victorian period and the transition to the Art Nouveau era , and remained popular in Edwardian and early 20th-century designs thereafter.
The ring has been fully hallmarked in Birmingham and can be dated to 1912 thanks to the date letter.
Two of the turquoise stones have a small chip on the edge. Considering the ring's age, this is fairly normal wear and tear and has little impact on the piece's appearance.
