Met een lengte van maar liefst 8,6 centimeter zijn de Ibis-oorstekers niet bepaald kort.. Zoltan Popovits ontwierp ze voor Lapponia als lange, sculpturale oorbellen die het gezicht op een bijzonder elegante manier omlijsten.
De naam Ibis verwijst naar de heilige ibis uit het oude Egypte, een vogel die symbool stond voor wijsheid. De lange, licht gebogen hanger doet denken aan zijn karakteristieke snavel. Bovenaan begint iedere oorbel met een organisch gevormde zilveren oorsteker, waaruit de slanke hanger vrij naar beneden beweegt.
De twee oorbellen zijn elkaars spiegelbeeld. De afwisseling tussen mat zilver en subtiel gepolijste details brengt de vorm tot leven zonder het ontwerp zwaar te maken. Opvallend zijn ze absoluut, maar door hun lange en smalle lijn blijven ze verrassend luchtig.
Dit vintage paar draagt het datumkeur O8 en dateert uit 1991.
