A striking round silver brooch by Raymond Boyd, a Navajo/Diné silversmith from Vanderwagen, New Mexico. Boyd is best known for his colorful bird motifs, featuring Zuni-style inlay.

At the center is a bird on a black onyx branch, surrounded by green leaves and red flower buds. The inlay includes malachite, aventurine, red coral, black onyx, mother-of-pearl, turquoise, and jasper. The wing sits slightly higher on the body and features fine incised details, giving the bird extra relief.

Around the edge is a graphic border of alternating black and bright blue triangles. This clean framing creates a beautiful contrast with the more natural depiction in the center.

On the back, there is both a brooch pin and a fixed pendant loop. The piece can therefore also be worn as a pendant, although it is offered here without a chain. The back is hand-signed: “Raymond Boyd – Vanderwagen, N.M.”

The brooch is in good vintage condition. The silver shows superficial scratches and normal signs of wear. The colorful inlay is complete and has been beautifully preserved.

FAQ Re-Sizing Service

How do I know my ring size?

View the explanation about ring sizes here .

What if I am unsure about my size or the ring?

Are you unsure about the right size or would you like to view the ring in real life first?
Order the ring without resizing. This way, you can try it on without worry, and returns are still possible according to the terms and conditions.

Can I have the ring adjusted after delivery?

To avoid back and forth shipments, size changes are made before shipment.
After delivery, the ring will not be resized in the workshop. If necessary, you can have it resized locally at a jeweler of your choice.

Can every ring be resized?

Most gold rings can be resized. Each ring is inspected before being made.
If a size change is not technically justified, I will contact you in advance.

How long is the delivery time with a change?

Please allow 1 to 2 weeks for processing.

Will you take care of the next chapter?

At Feniks, all jewelry has been part of the life of at least 1 other person.
The piece of jewelry was worn , cherished and every trace has its own story .

A story that will not reveal the jewel.

For this special reason I do not completely erase the traces of the past . The jewelry has been checked and polished but some still bear the marks of the previous owner.

The stories of the past remain a mystery. Will you create the next chapter?
