A powerful and instantly recognizable design by Hermès. This vintage Chaîne d'Ancre necklace is composed of the characteristic anchor links of the GM, or Large, model and closes with the famous toggle clasp.
The Chaîne d'Ancre motif was introduced in 1938 by Robert Dumas for Hermès. His inspiration came from the heavy anchor chains he saw along the Normandy coast. The design grew into one of the most famous jewelry motifs of the French fashion house.
The generous silver links give this necklace a distinct and almost sculptural character. With a length of approximately 44 cm, it sits relatively short around the neck. Despite its sturdy appearance, the necklace moves smoothly thanks to the individually connected links.
The necklace is marked with HERMÈS. The clasp features several French silver hallmarks, including two Minerva heads, AG 925, and a lozenge-shaped maker's mark. The combination of sizing, construction, signature, and hallmarks is consistent with an authentic French Hermès piece.
The necklace is in very good vintage condition. Fine signs of wear are visible on the polished silver surfaces, consistent with a worn vintage piece of jewelry. The toggle clasp works correctly.
The original Hermès box is no longer present. The necklace will be carefully delivered in a Feniks box.

After delivery, the ring will not be resized in the workshop. If necessary, you can have it resized locally at a jeweler of your choice.

Most gold rings can be resized. Each ring is inspected before being made.
