A Finnish silver ring with that typical, slightly quirky feel that you recognise time and again with Martti Viikinniemi .
Although his maker's mark isn't included, it's almost certain this ring is his. This type of setting and design is known from Viikinniemi , and I honestly can't attribute it to anyone else.
The Moss Agate is 12mm and sits high in a spherical head that seems to float slightly above the ring band.
This is due to those open round holes at the bottom: small details that you may only notice when you turn the ring, but which immediately show how well thought-out this design actually is.
The top measures 1.6 cm, and the ring sits 1.3 cm above your finger. The band widens slightly towards the bottom, to 5 mm, making it feel secure yet comfortable to wear.
Approved with 830H , used in Finland between 1969 and 1972 .
