These vintage sterling silver stud earrings feature a hummingbird that, for once, is sitting perfectly still: hovering above a flower, crafted with fine and colorful inlay. Mother-of-pearl, abalone, black onyx, and turquoise are among the materials used for the scene.
With their oval shape measuring 2.6 by 1.8 centimeters, the earrings make a clear statement, but their flat profile makes them comfortable to wear. On the back, they are marked with STERLING and WATCHMAN. Based on this marking and the characteristic bird inlay, they are attributed to the Navajo/Diné master silversmith Larry Watchman.
The earrings are in very good vintage condition. The inlay is completely intact, and the silver shows only slight signs of wear.
