A Finnish silver ring with that typical, slightly quirky feel that you recognise time and again with Martti Viikinniemi .
Although his maker's mark isn't included, it's almost certain this ring is his. This type of setting and design is known from Viikinniemi, and I honestly can't attribute it to anyone else.
The eye-catcher is the conical amethyst with a diameter of 1.3 cm . A stone with presence, standing tall and proud above the ring. The top of the setting measures 1.2 cm wide , and the whole thing rises approximately 1.7 cm above your finger . It is a sculptural design that immediately stands out with its volume and height.
The ring bears the Finnish hallmark 830 Silver , used from 1973 to the present . Based on the style, proportions, and finish, I estimate this piece to be from the 1970s.
The size of this ring is adjustable.
