This antique Victorian lavalier necklace dates from the late 19th century, presumably from the period 1880-1890. The necklace consists of a fine gold chain with an openwork central piece. This central piece is set with green peridots, an oval pink topaz, and 53 small seed pearls.

A delicate milgrain border, the small serrated edge often seen in older settings, surrounds the stones and pearls. The hanging parts fall smoothly one below the other, giving the necklace its typical lavalier shape.

The necklace comes with an expert appraisal from Günter J. Eichhorst Antiquitäten in Düsseldorf, dated August 13, 1975. It describes the necklace as English work from around 1880, with a 15-carat gold central piece, a 14-carat gold chain, pink topaz, Egyptian peridots, and seed pearls.

The necklace has a refined, yet distinct shape. The central piece opens up on the neckline, making this a jewel that doesn't just disappear among everyday necklaces. Rather, it's a piece for those who consciously choose antique, detailed, and a clear historical appearance.

The expertise from the German antique shop where the necklace was purchased in 1975 is included with the necklace.
