This heavy silver necklace is an early design by Danish silversmith Niels Erik From. It features the exact same floral design as the matching bracelet and consists of a series of richly decorated silver elements.
Each link is built around a smoothly polished silver hemisphere, surrounded by flowers, leaves, and small beads. The dark areas between the decorations add extra depth to the design and highlight the individual details beautifully.
The links are connected at the top and bottom with soldered silver eyelets. A nice technical detail is the difference between the connections on the inside and outside of the necklace. Longer, oval links are used on the outside. These provide precisely the extra space needed to follow the larger outer curve. A small detail, but one that shows careful thought was given to the fit.
Despite its substantial weight, the necklace drapes smoothly around the neck because all parts can move independently. With a length of 48.5 centimeters, it rests beautifully around the base of the neck, showcasing the full floral pattern clearly.
The box clasp is fully integrated into the design and again decorated with a flower. The necklace is hallmarked with "Sterling Denmark N.E. From" and "925S".
Based on the maker's mark, the floral design, and comparable pieces, the necklace can be dated to around 1945–1955. It is in very good vintage condition, with minor signs of wear consistent with its age.
