This lovely toi et moi ring dates from the Art Deco period, circa 1920s.
"Toi et moi" literally means "you and I" and refers to two stones forming a single design together. The design symbolizes the connection between two people, where both retain their own identity.
This ring features two round diamonds placed opposite each other in a slightly twisted design. An open circular bezel setting surrounds each diamond, making the stones appear to almost float. This gives the ring a particularly airy effect.
The top of the setting is made of white gold or possibly platinum. Without further testing, this cannot be confirmed with absolute certainty. The underside of the setting and the ring band are made of 18 karat yellow gold.
The diamonds each measure approximately 3 mm. Based on these dimensions, the total weight is estimated at approximately 0.20 carats in total. This remains a calculation based on dimensions and is therefore an estimate.
The ring bears a partially worn hallmark "K18," which refers to 18 karat gold. The ring has also been tested as being 18 karat gold.
