This silver pendant is built around a sleek, geometric design with clear Art Deco references. The central element is a square volume with a faceted garnet in a closed setting, surrounded by sharp lines and layered surfaces.
Although the design is strongly reminiscent of Art Deco designs from the 1920s and 1930s, the hallmarks indicate a later dating.
The pendant is hallmarked with the Dutch sword 925 and bears the maker's mark of NTG Huisman , active between 1977 and 1999 in Zeist (NL) .
This places the piece in the 1970s–80s , a period when historical styles were revived within modernist jewelry design.
The pendant is worn on a sturdy silver link chain.
