The vision of Tammen Koru
Establishment
In 1954, Alpo Tammi founded the Tammen Koru jewelry brand in Turku, Finland .
His designs are characterised by a modernist style, often with organic shapes and the use of materials such as silver, gold and bronze.
Vision & Style
The vision of Alpo Tammi and his brand Tammen Koru was deeply rooted in creating jewelry that excelled in both artistry and craftsmanship.
Tammi was strongly inspired by Finnish nature. His designs often reflect the rugged beauty of forests , lakes and the Turku archipelago . He translated these natural elements into jewelry with flowing lines and textures that are reminiscent of natural forms.
Guest designers
Over the years, Alpo Tammi collaborated with various guest designers. Riitta Hakala and Marjut Kemppi are the two best known.
Current AKT
Alpo Tammi is no longer involved with the company, which is now headed by Marjut Kemppi.
The company now operates under the name “Tammi Jewelry” and has expanded its product range.
Did you know that…
the AKT mark does not stand for a brand, but for a person.
AKT are the initials of Alpo Kustaa Tammi , the founder of Tammen Koru.
Many people think the “K” stands for Koru (the Finnish word for 'jewel'), but no – it's just his middle name.
