Beautiful vintage Labyrinth necklace, designed by Björn Weckström for the Finnish jewelry house Lapponia. This is the short version of the design: with its length of approximately 38 centimeters, the necklace is worn close to the neck and elegantly follows the natural line of the neck.
The necklace is composed of narrow, slightly curved links with Lapponia's characteristic matte finish. They are connected to each other by smaller, organically shaped oval links.
The integrated carabiner clasp is particularly beautiful. It was crafted in the same organic style as the connecting links and therefore blends almost completely into the design. Even the clasp thus forms a well-thought-out part of the necklace.
The necklace is made of sterling silver and was hallmarked with Lapponia's three-pronged maker's mark, the 925 purity mark, the Finnish date letter K8 for 1987, and the fully spelled-out name LAPPONIA.
The piece of jewelry is in very good vintage condition. Only minimal signs of wear are visible, and both the matte finish and the contrasting smoother details have been particularly well preserved.
