The Celae ring from Turkish design house URART combines a wide, rounded silver band with three striking 18-karat yellow gold elements. The gold shapes are raised on the silver and accentuated by the dark, oxidized contours surrounding them.
URART was founded in Istanbul in 1972 and is known for contemporary jewelry that harks back to the art and archaeology of Anatolia. According to the brand, the design of the Celae ring is based on ornaments from ancient bone sword hilts. This historical inspiration has been translated here into a sleek, graphic ring without stones. Silver, gold, and the shape itself do all the work.
The rounded ring band has a hollow construction, giving the ring a sturdy and voluminous appearance without being completely solid. With a width of approximately 6.8 mm at the top and 6.1 mm at the bottom, the model remains almost uniformly wide around the finger.
On the inside, the ring is signed and hallmarked with URART 925 for the sterling silver and URART 750 for the 18-karat gold components. It also bears the number 71066. This is presumably an internal production or registration number; its precise meaning could not be ascertained.
The Celae ring is still part of URART's current collection. The exact production year of this particular piece is unknown.
The ring is in very good, pre-owned condition. Light scratches and signs of wear are visible on the polished silver and gold elements, consistent with previous use. The original oxidized contrast around the gold details has been well preserved.
