This early example dates from 1978 and, with its length of approximately 38 centimeters, belongs to the shorter versions of the design. The necklace is worn close to the neck and, thanks to its slightly curved links, beautifully follows the natural neckline.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe silver links have Lapponia's characteristic matte texture. Small, organically shaped connectors hold the individual parts together and create a subtle contrast with the understated finish of the longer links.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eA special detail of this early version is the original \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003etoggle clasp\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e. The end is passed through an oval ring, thus closing the necklace. Here too, the organic design beautifully complements the rest of the piece. In later versions of the Labyrinth, we more frequently see an integrated lobster clasp.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe necklace is made of \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003esterling silver\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e and bears extensive Finnish hallmarks: 925, the national control mark with the crown in the heart, Lapponia's three-pronged firm mark, 925 again, the date stamp A8 for 1978, and the fully spelled-out name LAPPONIA.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThis early Labyrinth is in very good vintage condition. The matte texture has been particularly well preserved and shows no unsightly wear.
